Continuous Drawing

This sketch was completed with an unbelievably large amount of work. I spent hour upon hour in lectures and labs last year at OSU Newark campus. Basically the whole piece together shows my hobbies and personality. This style of drawing is interesting to me because it can be never ending.

Visually when i open this blog I see art presented on a black background with a mix of white and red text. Its obvious that the creator is looking for a way to present his work for others to see. In this piece we have a few pictures describing his personality as well. It is apparent that the creators takes pride in fishing. Also we see a nice cherry table and a nice sketch style. We also have links to a few other fun sites and and animated character representing the authors appearance.

When i opened this sight from the get go I knew this was going to be a sight about the authors many talents. Upon further investigation i found an artist statement that stated that the purpose of this sight was for the creator to have a place to post his hobbies and talent to a larger audience. The first post was titled Continuous Drawing and depicted a Jaba type character. Another shared his hobby of wood working.

In my opinion I feel that this sight will develop into a pretty cool sight. So far the graphics are good and the posts are pretty informative of the creators work. I feel that it is kind of early in the process to say if the content works for me due to lack of post. I am sure as the blog develops it will become more entertaining. As far as layout, i like the black on red. Its clean and has a nice format. I hate when a site's color scheme clashes and the text is hard to read. This works well and doesn't get in the way of content. I think one thing that i would like to see perhaps is perhaps a graphic within the title? I guess when i see the creators post on Continuous Drawing i wonder if there is a way to create that sketch style somewhere in the title. Right now i guess i see the title and cant help but think of Creed. If not the title perhaps in the background somewhere? Just a random thought.

So OSU Newark? Harsh. I did time there as well. I miss the good parking

I really like this.. you did a nice job on keeping the eyes symmetrical, which is possibly my biggest battle when drawing faces. I like that it takes you just a second before you realize what you're looking at.. it's pretty neat I think you should frame it :)

Thanks for sharing your work with all of us, it's very brave and I know we're all appreciating it! Visually I really like your page, the flow is pretty straight forward but the colors are bold enough to give it character. The fact you're putting your own works on here really works for me because your work is amateur enough that it still hits close to home.. not saying you're work isn't good, but that is hasn't yet reached that public status I am taking about. Your page is easy to follow and I will be coming back :)

Are you familiar with comics at all, specifically one called Johnny the Homicidal Maniac? If so, you might remember the artist, Jhonen's, habit of making the panel borders into crazy, convoluted arts just like this. It takes a long time, I'll bet.
